While working on the preview video for the Turing Phone, Appassionato, we tried to convey emotions through technology. Turing Robotics Industries (TRI) was developing a second-generation phone with great enthusiasm and passion (after all, “appassionato” means “passionate” in Italian).
Appassionato, as a piece of art, was made of a liquid-metal shell with a special covering, which provides resistance to scratches and feels smooth like ceramic to the touch.
The Turing Phone, like the company itself, is named after the British mathematician Alan Turing, who is also known as an outstanding cryptographer. The main feature of the phone is its “enhanced intelligence.” It is the voice concierge service called Sir Alan.
