Revealing Tundra

Installation
2024

Radugadesign, in collaboration with Gazprom Neft, presented the Revealing Tundra project at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2024. A large curved screen served as a portal to the world of Tundra's nature.

The project has the highest level of detail in the animal renderings among all of the studio’s projects. It took 7 months to complete — from character creation to their movements programming to be highly realistic.

The installation’s architecture symbolizes tree growth rings and serves as a portal to the Arctic world. The content was developed in tandem with the architectural design and crafted specifically for a concave screen to achieve a 3D effect. Its unique curvature allowed viewers to take photos as if they were immersed inside the scenes.

We studied animal behavior to capture their personalities and realistic movement dynamics, consulting with representatives of indigenous northern communities to ensure authenticity. Every feather, blade of grass, and tiny detail was crafted with great care — a total of 17 million strands of fur and feathers were drawn. The environment was built using high-quality 3D scans.
