Malevich Festival

Stage Design, Installation, Live Performance
2026

“Square of Sound” is a visual concept for the stage design of the Malevich Festival 2025. Inspired by six works by Kazimir Malevich, radugadesign developed a set for six live performances.

The key idea was to create a seamless environment without a clear boundary between the stage structure, visual content, and the surrounding landscape.

To achieve this, we built a virtual version of the stage and lighting setup. Real and virtual light sources operated in sync, with beams and reflections extending into the digital scene. Geometric forms echoed kinetic structures, while backgrounds referenced the natural environment. Generative audio-reactive textures were applied to the surfaces of the compositions.

This approach allowed us to maintain a unified visual language while adapting it for each performance, highlighting the distinctive character of each artist.
