Bloemstilleven

Bloemstilleven 12 is a series of 12 generative artworks dedicated to transformation of culture and perception through technology.

When we approach Dutch and Flemish still life today, we let artificial intelligence into classical imagery, thus complicating the original semantic code. The use of AI in the project is a shift to our contemporary consciousness, in many ways similar to the transition from Christian consciousness to a secular one in the XVII century.

Every piece in the Bloemstilleven 12 series is presented as an interactive display that responds to surrounding sounds and the presence of people. Based on these parameters, the flowers on the display either blossom and brighten or fade and become covered with craquelures. Each piece in the series comes with an NFT.
