Airport Gagarin

Exhibition Design
2019

In August 2019, the new airport Gagarin opened in Saratov. Radugadesign Studio created the interactive content of the permanent exhibition dedicated to the interconnection between humans and space. Each section of the airport is occupied with a different thematic block of the exposition.

At the registration area, visitors are greeted by a cosmically huge 35-meter screen. While waiting for the flight, passengers can try on the virtual spacesuit, and while proceeding to board the plane, everyone passing through the multimedia U-shaped arсhes can listen to Gagarin’s conversations with Korolev before the first manned space flight.

In the baggage claim area, there is an exposition about the connection between Saratov and space flights. And in the lobby on the second floor, there is a large interactive table. Tsiolkovsky’s digitalized albums (including drawings, cosmic Soviet posters, extracts from fantastic movies and projects on developing the airspace of architects and artists of the 1930s, and much more) were used as exhibits.
